i hate car rides

Sorry I have been MIA again, but I have been super busy!  My brother and sister in law just had their second son, so I have been busy being an aunt!!  I would like to announce the birth of my nephew, Ryder Jensen. My brother lives in Maryland, so usually once a month my parents, sister and I truck on down to Maryland to see our family.  The ride is only 2 and a half an hours so it is not bad.  I had a great Easter weekend with my family; I am truly blessed.
the newest fmaily addition, Ryder
My other nephew, Brayden (the big brother), is 18 months and literally the funniest toddler I know.  I had a great time playing and being a big kid with him from throwing the ball around, to blowing bubbles to running around a tunnel that I just fit in!  It was a blast!

my adorable nephew & BFF, Brayden
It seems every time we go to Maryland to meet my nephews for the first time, something goes wrong with our car.  Last year in October 2009 when we went down to meet baby, Brayden, literally as we got on the turnpike our car started smoking.  We pulled over and called triple A and got picked up by a crazy truck driver!  Little to our surprise, our engine died and this crazy truck driver had to drive my family and I home in a pick up truck.  It was not funny at the moment, but now looking back it was hysterical.  I can just picture my family and I in our pj's in a HUGE pick up truck with this crazy truck driver who was definitely from a different planet!

Well this time... to start the drive down took us 5 hours because traffic was HORRIBLE!  It was miserable, but all worth it for a great weekend.  Then we left yesterday morning, we were doing great!  I took an hour and a half nap and woke up and we were just getting into New Jersey; things were looking good.  Then we left my sister and I started to play the alphabet game (yes, we are big kids at heart) and then our car started to "shimmy."  Ali and I were like "Whoa, we are shimming!" But our dad said not to worry about it.  We have a mini van and my dad knows everything, so Ali and I trusted him because he is our dad.  But we continued to "shimmy," and the big kids that we are we started to sing, "shimmy shimmy coco puff, shimmy shimmy pow," and cracking each other up.  And then BOOM our whole car totally shifted.  Luckily my dad was able to pull over and to our surprise we had the worst flat tire!

the flat tire :(
Luckily, flats are easily fixed and triple A came to our rescue within 30 minutes.  But we all agreed, if my brother has another kid we will wait to meet the baby when they come to Jersey!
